The $30 Motel Room Puzzle

There is no missing dollar. The three travelers originally paid $30 for a room. The motel refunded five dollars, three of it going to the travelers and two to the bellhop. In the end, the travelers paid $27 for a $25 room, and the bellhop pocketed the extra $2.

The question of the other dollar is a smokescreen. The motel refunded $5, so the cost of the room was $25. The real question is, since the room cost $25 and the travelers paid $27, where did the other $2 go? And the answer is, to the dishonest bellhop.
